Fall Fun from Families with Young Children!

Join us on Saturday, October 25th at the Old Mine Ranch in Dumfries VA for fun Fall activities.

Old Mine Ranch is a Wild West Theme Children's Pony Ranch and Petting Farm. There is a hands-on pet farm, hay ride, western ghost town, hay maze, fun tunnels, pumpkin painting, river hike, moon bounce and more.

Bring a picnic lunch or there is food available to purchase at the park. Admission is $5.00. Ranch opens at 10:00 am, let's meet outside front entrance at 9:45 am. The ranch is located at I-95 Exit #152 - Route 234 (Manassas/Dumfries), which is one exit south of Potomac Mills Mall.

Sky watching at Sky Meadows State Park

Come join us on Saturday, November 8 for Sky watching at Sky Meadows State Park from dusk to 11:00 PM

Join Sean O'Brien, staff astronomer of the Albert Einstein Planetarium, and other local amateur astronomers, for public telescopic observing under dark, star-filled skies, away from city lights. The evening begins with a short night sky orientation at dusk, followed by telescopic observing of various astronomical objects.

The Albert Einstein Planetarium, National Air and Space Museum, Sky Meadows State Park is west of Washington, D.C. on US Route 17 North, 1 mile south of US Route 50, or 7 miles north of Interstate 66, Exit 23. The park contact phone number is (540) 592-3556. There is a $4 parking fee per car.

Please cover flashlights with a red filter or a brown paper bag. Dress warmly. In case of clouds or rain, an amateur astronomer will lead a short alternate program.

THE IFC ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY

Come and join us on Saturday, December 13th, from 2-5 pm at Largo Community Church in Mitchelville, MD!

Our annual winter celebration of Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa will include a potluck dinner, activities for the kids and fun for all! IFC will supply turkey, ham, drinks and tableware.

If your last name begins with:
A-M: bring a side dish or salad,
O-Z bring a dessert.

Directions: From Route 301: about 5 miles south of Rte. 50, take Rte. 214 (Central Avenue) west. Turn right at first stop light, Enterprise Rd (Rte. 193). The church is 1 mile on the right.

From Woodrow Wilson Bridge: Proceed north on I-95 to Exit 17 (Rte. 202) toward Upper Marlboro, then proceed as below from *once off the beltway on 202.

From Washington, DC: Take Rte. 50 East to I-95 South. Proceed as below from *once off the beltway on 202.

From Balt-Wash Parkway: Take the BW Parkway to I-95 South. Exit at 17A (Rte. 202) toward Upper Marlboro and proceed as below from *once off the beltway on 202.

*Once off the beltway on Rte. 202: After about a mile, turn left at the Lottsford Road stop light. At the next stop light (about 3 miles) turn right on Enterprise Road (Rte. 193) The church is 1/2 mile on the left.
